Lunge Kicks

Mix up your lunges with kicks when you lift off. You get some cardio in, and work more muscles in your legs. Try it on your next leg day.

Muscle vs. Fat

People tend to look at the scale a lot when trying to lose weight, and it could be really frustrating when that scale we trust so much is not budging. This is especially true when you are working hard and eating right. Well, consider this: Are your clothes becoming looser? Are you actually seeing your muscle definition come through? Then it may be that you are losing fat and putting on muscle, which is great news!

Muscles and fat weigh the same, but muscles take up less space. This is why visual confirmation is more important than the scale. If you want to be really certain, using a measuring tape or a body fat calculator works too.

Venus Sensitive Embrace Razor Review

Part of a healthy body is healthy skin, and part of healthy skin for a woman depends on the razor she uses. I like to take time off sometimes to review a product that I've tried :)

Many women believe their sensitive skin gets in the way of a close, smooth shave; but the symptoms women are experiencing may just be from using the wrong or a dull razor. Now, Gillette Venus is introducing the Venus Embrace Sensitive razor with increased glide enhancers and a touch of Aloe, to provide a closer shave with less irritation. I got to be one of the people to try this product before it hits the shelves!

Friday Inspiration: What Works for your Body

Yoga pose: Extended forward fold.

Inspiration: Every person's body is innately different. One version of a pose is not better than another. With regular practice, you will slowly fall into what works for YOUR body to get the positive benefits and reduce your risk of injury. My practice became sooooo much better when I accepted this.

I want people not to get frustrated when you practice. A lot of us try to be like other people. There's nothing wrong in being inspired, but because our bodies are so different, rather than spend time mimicking, spend time learning about your body. Find out what works and what does not feel right.

Need a Burst of Energy? Try Tuck Jumps!

Tuck jumps are tough because they involve a strong burst of cardio. If you love plyometric exercises, you'd love these. Just make sure you land softly, bend your knees when you land to reduce pressure, and tuck your knees when you jump to work your abs. You'll be breathing heavily and torching calories in no time!

Engaging your Muscles in the Squat

Squatting is probably one of the best bum exercises out there. But a lot of folks do it wrong. And this puts pressure on your knees rather than your glutes. Want a great bum and thighs? Want to incorporate the squat in your routine but think you may be doing it wrong? Here is a simple tip to help engage your bum muscles.

LG TONE+ Wireless Stereo Headphones Review

Dealing with wires, volume, and music while you run and work out sometimes gets a little tedious. Depending on my mood, I like to sometimes surprise myself with music so I'd just put my iPod on shuffle. This leads to me stopping to change the music when it gets to a slow song or something I may just not be feeling at that point in time. When I heard that these wireless headphones might change that, I was excited to give them a try.

How's Your Running Form?

Running is probably my favorite form of cardio. But it is also one of the forms of cardio with the highest rate of injury. Why? Because people don't usually learn to run, and so we end up pounding your bodies in this repetitive motion and hurting ourselves.

Besides the hurt, when you run properly, it also helps you use your energy more efficiently and possibly perform better. So how do you run properly?

What do Calories Mean to Your Waistline?

The body is a very complex machine, but its laws are pretty simple when it comes to weight loss and weight gain. You pretty much consume food to help provide you energy and help your body function. If you consume more than your body needs, it converts it into fat and stores it for a rainy day. This leads to "weight gain".

Jump Rope as Cardio

Running gets the reputation for being "the" cardio exercise pretty much because it is easy to figure out how much you are losing and how fit you are getting. But then a lot of people end up not working out because they hate to run and they think that's the only way to do it. Why not diversify? Try the jump rope!
