Silk Fruity and Creamy Soy Yogurt

I like Silk products in general. Their soy milk and almond milk are pivotal to my existence. You will probably see that I have reviewed a couple of soy products on here, and in general, I'm not a big fan of reviewing products I'm neutral on. So when I got the opportunity to receive and review this Silk Fruity and Creamy soy yogurt, I jumped at it.

You may not be a fan of soy; I know it does not smell great, and has a bit of an after-taste. If you are lactose intolerant, allergic to dairy, or choose not to eat dairy, you might find yourself forced to be in the soy aisle. But I would ask you to try soy products even if you are not forced to. You might find something you like. Like this perhaps.

Silk Fruity and Creamy yogurt comes in several flavors, and I got to try the strawberry, blueberry, and peach flavors (my favorite was the peach). It ranges from 140 to 150 calories in each cup, with about 6g of protein, and yes, it is made of soy. These numbers are standard for any other type of yogurt (except Greek which has more protein). What surprised me is how creamy the yogurt is. Even though it says creamy in the name, I was prepared to have that same yogurt texture that I see with all other yogurts. But I was pleasantly surprised.

Now, about the fruit, what's great is that it does contain real fruit, not just fruit flavors. When you dig in, you can see the blueberries, the strawberries, and the chunks of other fruit. The bad part is that you may have to dig a bit for it as it is not that much.

So the texture and the consistency was great, and the taste of fruits was great. What did I not really like? Of course the soy taste was pretty evident, but the fruit flavors were good enough to cover it up. And although there was a bit of that soy taste, I actually preferred this to regular yogurt because it didn't have that incredibly sour taste you find with some regular yogurts. So although I wouldn't slap my mama for it, I would probably buy it over other regular yogurt brands.

Would I recommend it? Yes. Would I spend my own money on it? Yes. Silk met my expectations :) Go out and try it.

Cheers Eights & Weights!

Please note that I received this product for free to try out and review. However, this is an independent, objective review.
