Colgate Slimsoft Review

So I thought I'd take a little break from the fitness and nutrition posts, and chat about a product I received to review: a dental hygiene package. If you know me, you know I'm particular about my teeth so I'm probably the best person to talk about how I feel about this product.

What did I receive? A Colgate Slimsoft toothbrush, a Colgate Total Advanced Whitening toothpaste, and a Colgate Total Advanced Pro-shield mouthwash. I already like Colgate Total, even though I happen to be an Aquafresh toothpaste user and a Listerine Smart Rinse mouthwash user (I know it's for kids. What's your point?), so the toothpaste and mouthwash were just as good as I expected. However, I wanted to try out the toothbrush because I always have trouble finding and picking the right one.

Before I received the package, I was using the Colgate Wave Zigzag, which is not a high end toothbrush, but I like it because the shape allows it to reach the nooks and crannies. However, when I received the new Colgate Slimsoft brush, I noticed the first thing it stated was that the bristles are slimmer to allow it to dig deeper. I already loved that!

See the comparison. I didn't want to show you guys a toothbrush I've already used, you know? You can't be seeing the damage I cause.

So I tried it. And I liked it. Regular bristles are sort of round and even though they are advertised to reach every corner of your mouth, they don't always, especially if you are like me and have absolutely no gap between your teeth. Having thinner bristles means it reaches more :)

Now, thinner bristles are hard to get used to though. The brush feels softer and is harder to control, and I do have a sneaky suspicion that they won't last as long because the bristles wear out faster. But you are supposed to change your toothbrush every 3 months anyway so that doesn't matter as much unless you expect to use your toothbrush for like 6 months.

Anyway, the summary is that I like the toothbrush, and I guess I'll know more about the longevity as I continue to use it. If you are like me and are concerned about the nooks and crannies in your mouth, this is for you.

Cheers Eights & Weights!
