New to Yoga Series: Core Strength

People tend not to realize how much core strength goes into yoga. There are a lot of planks and push-ups involved, and so a great way to build your core and upper body strength is to do these planks over and over again with the right posture.

A yoga push-up is different from a regular push-up because it requires more core work. How? Because you bring your palms right under your shoulders, and your elbows tucked in close to your body. It is harder to keep your body straight in this pose as you go up and down, but you'd notice that it requires more effort as well.

Do as many as you can today as you prepare your body to get into yoga mode! To watch the video of how this works, check out my link here: Yoga Upper Push-up to Chataranga.

Cheers Eights & Weights!

  2. Yes, it's pretty intense with the heat and the sweatiness. But the extreme heat also loosens up your muscles.
