Challenging Your Core

I always talk about challenging your body, and how it helps you maximize your physical potential. With any strength training exercise, that could be pushing yourself to do more reps, using more weights in the same exercises, or adding the challenge of balance to your workout.

We all do the plank (if you've been working on your core, you know what I mean). But I thought I'd show you a way to challenge yourself a little and build even more core strength. One option is to do the plank on one arm and hold for as long as possible.

Another option is to do the one-arm plank but also lift the opposite foot off the floor. That works your core even more as it forces you to try to stabilize on both ends.

There are many other options you can try, like the moving plank, the up-and-down plank, the pelvic plank, etc. as well.

How are you challenging your core today?

Cheers Eights & Weights!
