King Athletic Jump Rope and Other Exercise Tools

If you follow me on Instagram, you know that I received some fitness tools from King Athletic a few weeks ago to try out: a jump rope, some massage balls, and a resistance band loop. This was super exciting as I love little fitness knick-knacks that I can use while I travel. And since I just finished the Brooklyn Half Marathon, I desperately needed some other cross training workouts outside of running to recover.

The jump rope was supposed to be the highlight of the pack as it triggered the most excitement from the King Athletic reps. When I received it, it had squishy handles and was long enough for me (you will be surprised to know how much of an issue this is when I buy jump ropes). The look, sturdiness, and length were very much appreciated.

On my trip to Sierra Leone a few weeks ago, I took the jump rope with me because I knew I most likely would not be able to find a gym close-by, and was not certain how stable the internet connection was to do YouTube training videos. So the jump rope would come in handy.

That's why I looked so happy in the video :) My only concern was that right after using it one time, the squishy handle already started to peel off. This is not a problem I have faced with other rubber handles so I wasn't very impressed with that, but everything else seemed to work well.

My verdict? The functionality and length are great, but the quality of the foam on the handles need to be improved. What I found out was also that they have workout videos of skipping sequences to help if you are new to jump rope workouts. My highlight was actually the massage balls. I love love love them. If you are a runner, you understand!
