What’s on Your Workout Playlist?

When we get into the gym, we just want to go, go, go. But sometimes, we don’t realize that the music we listen to may be holding us back during our workout routine. Music affects your emotions, which in turn affect your energy level. And so high-intensity workouts are better with high-intensity music. If you’re listening to ‘My Heart will go on’ as you run (ummm…), you’re probably not going to have the energy to run as fast as you probably can. Since it’s actually pretty difficult to put together songs that best match your workout mood, I thought it would be fun to compile a list of my favorite workout songs. For example, if you want to get me going, Ciara ft. Missy’s ‘Work’ will do the trick every time. It does not matter how I’m feeling, I will hop on that treadmill. And Drake just makes me want to do push-ups. I have no idea why. Eminem's music makes me want to punch a bag, but that's relatively understandable. Please share your favorite workout music too!

  1. Music makes such a difference! If I ever got on the treadmill and realised I'd left my ipod at home or it wasn't working, I'd hop right back off - I can't imagine working out (more so with running) without my music! My fav treadmill songs at the moment are 'Baby by me' 50 cent feat. Neyo, 'Boom Boom Pow' BEP, 'Sexy Chick' David Guetta feat. Akon, 'A Milli' Lil Wayne and 'OMG' Usher. I'll be adding a couple of your list to mine :D I definitely keep changing the songs or I get bored!

  2. You have to put Eminem's 8 Mile in the 'running list'. If you have one of these Naija Praise and Worship mixes, just insert and push play. Actually, they even work better for aerobics. :)

For Yoganese, I think I would enjoy Tuface's new album - Unstoppable.

  3. LOL @ Vickii! I do the same too, if I'm without my iPod, I promptly hop off. Aside from my workout iPod, I now always keep an extra iPod in the car... just in case.

Anything by Beyonce gets me moving all the time. That woman is my "workout buddy" I start with VideoPhone and it just gets me going and going and going. My ultimate thredmill song though is "Jai Ho" Pussycat Dolls & A Rahman. Oh and Kanye's workout plan :) For strength training, Money can't buy it by Annie Lennox, for some reason, my confidence level shoots through the roof and so does my energy level when I hear that song. Music truly is everything.

    Great Post, I totally relate.

  4. In a payday loan, what is considered collateral?: what experts say

In a payday loan, what is considered collateral? Experts say anything can be collateral, as long as you can get the lender to agree to it. This includes your car, your house, and even your child’s college tuition money. Whatever you can come up with to get a payday loan quickly is likely to be considered fair game by a lender. Learn more about collateral in payday loans especially if you have plans to apply for one in the future.
